As a Traffic and Security Officer in our RAF Brize Norton team, you'll help protect and support the RAF's largest operational base by delivering essential access, security, and traffic services. Your work will ensure colleagues, visitors, and contractors experience a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. What you'll do as a Traffic and Security Officer:

  • Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all visitors and colleagues.
  • Control vehicle and pedestrian access, checking identification and passes with accuracy.
  • Assist with security searches and emergency response when required.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and incident reports.
  • Deliver vehicle escort duties and traffic management services across the base.
  • Airfield pass check.

  • Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence training and UK Security Vetting (UKSV) clearance or having no issues obtaining it.
  • A full UK driving licence (maximum six points).
  • The ability to meet the colour perception requirement for an Airfield Driving Permit.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, customer-focused mindset.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts.

You must obtain UKSV Security Clearance (SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
