Production Controller in Portsmouth

As a Production Controller in our Defence Technology Hub team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of specialist equipment and support contracts across the UK and Europe. You'll help coordinate production activities, manage supply chain processes, and support the delivery of solutions that have a positive impact for our customers.

Working closely with production, engineering, programme management, and supply chain teams, you'll help maintain the smooth flow of materials, components, and manufacturing activities. Your work has purpose, helping to create impactful solutions that support important defence capabilities while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and service.

What you'll do as a Production Controller

• Define and maintain system build standards for production activities.
• Procure, kit, and load parts to support manufacturing and assembly requirements.
• Coordinate programme builds both within the Technology Hub workshop and through approved manufacturing subcontractors.
• Monitor component shortages, expedite deliveries, and support achievement of production targets.
• Assess new suppliers and evaluate existing supplier performance to maintain quality and delivery standards.
• Maintain cradle-to-grave design lifecycle trackers and provide production cost information to support bids.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Confident communicator who can build trusted relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of defence or aerospace standards would be advantageous but is not essential.
