Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm, Friday 7am to 2.30pm (additional paid hours are available when business needs arise).
Ready to impact a better future? As a Machine Driver & Operative in our Transfer Station team, you'll help keep waste and recycling operations running safely and efficiently. From operating plant equipment to supporting site activities, your work will help deliver an essential service that has a positive impact on communities every day.
This is a hands-on role where your work has purpose. You'll support the safe movement, sorting and management of materials, helping maximise recycling and maintain a clean, well-run site. By working closely with colleagues, customers and members of the public, you'll help create impactful solutions that support a cleaner environment and impact a better future.
What you'll do as a Machine Driver & Operative:
- Assist with the unloading, sorting and segregation of materials to maximise recycling opportunities.
- Support the safe and efficient movement of vehicles across site, including traffic management and directing users safely.
- Carry out daily inspections of plant and vehicles, completing all required reporting and documentation.
- Maintain site records, including delivery notes and site diaries, ensuring accurate administration.
- Help maintain high standards of cleanliness across the transfer station, depot, equipment and surrounding areas.
- Follow all health and safety requirements, support site inductions and contribute to excellent customer service.

- You hold a Telehandler Licence, or you're willing to obtain one through training within three months of joining.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- You can work independently, use your initiative and contribute positively as part of a team.
- You can follow verbal and written instructions and are committed to safe working practices.
- Experience in plant or machine driving, transfer station operations and basic IT skills would be advantageous.
