Salary: £27,306.94 per annum plus excellent benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm

As an Offending Behaviour Programmes Facilitator within our Justice and Immigration division, you'll play a crucial role in supporting rehabilitation and reducing reoffending. You'll deliver accredited offending behaviour programmes to prisoners, working directly with individuals to support positive change, improved decision making and safer futures. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires resilience, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to personal and professional development. Your work will directly contribute to sentence planning, parole processes and long term rehabilitation outcomes.

What you'll do as an Offending Behaviour Programmes Facilitator:

  • Deliver accredited offending behaviour programmes, such as Building Choices, in line with the establishment's delivery plan.
  • Complete all pre session and post session work required for programme delivery.
  • Assess prisoners for suitability to attend offending behaviour programmes.
  • Carry out motivational work and assessment processes prior to programme commencement.
  • Prepare programme objectives and follow up work for prisoners, offering additional support where required.
  • Produce high-quality motivational endorsements for prisoners according to deadline at regular intervals throughout a group schedule.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as processing referrals, updating waiting lists and preparing session materials.
  • Communicate effectively with prison staff and relevant external agencies regarding individual progress.
  • Contribute to sentence planning and parole processes for prisoners involved in programmes.
  • Attend regular supervision with the Treatment Manager.
  • Attend and successfully complete all required training.
  • Actively work towards development across the five core competencies: Responsivity with Integrity, Treatment Style, Facilitation Skills, Planning and Reviewing, Openness to Learning.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Experience working in a forensic or custodial setting.
  • Experience delivering psychological interventions.
  • Experience delivering accredited offending behaviour programmes in custody or the community.

Additional requirements:

  • Programme Facilitators must attend and pass all mandatory training. If assessed as Not Ready on two training attempts, suitability for the role will be formally reviewed.
  • This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Vetting and checks:

  • An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements.
  • You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
