As a Sous Chef in our team, you’ll help deliver high quality, nutritious dishes for a wide range of guests - including elite athletes - while supporting the smooth running of the kitchen. You’ll play a key part in creating an environment where great food, teamwork, and care for our community come together. Your work will help shape positive experiences for visitors and colleagues, all while contributing to a future focused, high performing catering operation built on trust, pride, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do as a Sous Chef:

  • Prepare and cook dishes to agreed standards and recipes.
  • Maintain the cleaning schedule, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Ensure food is produced to the required quality and presentation standards.
  • Follow company hygiene procedures including recording temperatures, taking samples, and ensuring safe storage of foodstuffs.
  • Complete and generate orders as required.
  • Work with the Head Chef and Nutritionist to develop innovative, nutritious menus.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Work flexibly across mornings, evenings, and weekends to meet site needs.
  • Role model Serco’s values and support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team.
  • Challenge colleagues constructively when standards or behaviours are not upheld.

  • A minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
  • At least two years of kitchen experience.
  • Experience catering for large numbers (desirable).
