Serco Leisure is one of the UK's leading national operators of leisure centres, destination venues and elite sporting facilities. We are recruiting a Duty Manager to manage the Maidstone Leisure Centre facility, ensuring all activities are delivered to a high standard with safety as the first priority. The role will involve a high level of customer interaction as well as the deployment supervision of the operational team, alongside taking control and responding in the event of any emergency situation. You will lead operational teams, manage daily activity, respond to incidents and emergencies, and provide a visible management presence across the site. Safety, customer experience and teamwork are at the heart of this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Open and close the site and maintain security
  • Supervise and deploy lifeguards and operational staff
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and outdoor pool procedures
  • Respond to accidents, incidents and emergency situations
  • Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer feedback
  • Carry out site checks and maintain standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Support cash handling and basic financial procedures
  • Assist with staff training, rotas and absence management

  • Experience in a leisure, aquatic or supervisory role / operational leadership

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NPLQ Pool Plant Operators Qualification (PPO) - training will be provided for the successful candidate without PPO.
  • First Aid at Work including AED
