Serco Limited HMP Fosse Way – Permanent, Full Time £43,302 per annum + Corporate Benefits Package
We’re looking for a Deputy FM Manager to join our team at HMP Fosse Way, a brand new Category C resettlement prison in Leicester with a capacity to house around 1,700 prisoners. You will join our FM Team and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of planned maintenance work (statutory and contractual), reactive repairs and local projects. Working alongside an existing Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for first line management of a team of Engineers and Staff with a variety of skills. You will be required to report to and deputise for the on-site Facilities Manager and manage relationships with operational colleagues at all levels. You will ensure the team’s training is up to date, site health & safety procedures are followed and that Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are adhered to. You will also manage Contractors, ensure remedial work tasks are completed on time following maintenance, and respond to new challenges as they arise.
Ideally candidates should hold a qualification with City & Guilds equivalent mechanical qualification (e.g. Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning Systems) and knowledge of BMS (Honeywell, Trend would be an advantage).
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of maintenance plans that ensure the establishment is safe and compliant.
- Plan and programme maintenance activities according to the programme held in the CAFM system and prioritise work in a hierarchy of safety, compliance, and contractual needs.
- Allocate work according to staff on a daily basis.
- Track, monitor and manage the progress of work and the productivity of staff.
- Provide appropriate challenge and assurance to ensure that work is delivered to the highest standards and within timescales.
- Deputise for the Facilities Manager in their absence in dealing with staff management and development.
- Monitor spend and financial commitments in line with policy and guidance; produce spend data as required.
Qualifications / Skills
- Strong supervisory/management experience with first-line leadership.
- Engineering qualification or relevant engineering experience; knowledge of systems within a similar environment and familiarity with statutory requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant maintenance systems and a proactive approach to safety and compliance.
Additional Requirements
- Manage and monitor the Facilities “Out of Hours” call-out roster.
- Deputise for the FM Manager at meetings and in other absences.
