Serco are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our Estates and Facilities team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. You will play a vital role in maintaining and ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the hospital's electrical systems and services. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis, repair, installation, and testing of a wide range of electrical systems in a healthcare environment, ensuring full compliance with Healthcare SHTM (Scottish Health Technical Memoranda) standards and guidance.
Participation in a 6-week shift rota will be required to ensure round-the-clock cover for the hospital's essential services.
What you'll do as an Electrician:
- Provide specialist electrical advice and support to estates colleagues and contractors.
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on plant, equipment, and building infrastructure.
- Undertake fault-finding, testing, inspection, and diagnosis across complex electrical systems and equipment.
- Complete installation, repair, calibration, and validation tasks in line with relevant regulations and guidance.
- Use calibrated test equipment to ensure safe operation of wiring systems, emergency generators, and critical systems.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide emergency out of hours response.
- Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, test certificates, and reports.
- Support and guide apprentices and maintenance assistants when required.

- A recognised electrical trade qualification and experience working as an Electrician in a complex building environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise competing demands.
- Knowledge of electrical regulations including BS7671 (Wiring Regulations) and safe systems of work.
- Experience working with Building Management Systems, medical gases, HVAC systems, or similar (training provided where needed).
- The ability to use your initiative, solve problems, and deliver safe, high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Vetting and checks: This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
