As an Issue Centre Operative within the IMOS contract at RNAS Culdrose, you will support the control and safe, compliant and efficient delivery of all tooling, test equipment and ground support functions essential to aviation operations. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and governance of equipment used across the IMOS contract. Upholding regulatory standards and ensuring colleagues have the tools and support they require, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure and effective operational environment that benefits both our teams and the communities we serve.

What you’ll do as an Issue Centre Operative:

  • Manage the control, maintenance and availability of aircraft tooling and test equipment
  • Co‑ordinate calibration activity, COSHH compliance, and equipment demand processes
  • Ensure all tooling and equipment is managed in accordance with relevant regulations, policies and customer requirements
  • Deliver contracted tasks to required standards while maintaining full statutory and customer compliance
  • Identify and communicate risks, concerns and safety observations through recognised reporting systems such as DASOR or Assure
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and provide mentoring or guidance when appropriately qualified

  • Previous experience with a thorough working knowledge of the following:
  • Merlin Aircraft Servicing and Support Equipment
  • Lean Operating Procedures
  • Naval Air Publications and Compound – Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (C-IETP)
  • Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices
  • Understanding of Tooling/Stores Management in a Military environment
  • Use of Microsoft Office and applications such as Excel and Word
  • Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course
  • Have a good understanding of military (aviation) procedures
  • An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA)
  • A capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs

Vetting and checks: This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, you will need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
