Overview

Serco works in partnership with the public sector across the UK, delivering essential services to government with an ambition to make a positive impact. Our work spans citizen services, healthcare, transport, justice, immigration and defence – and the people behind that work matter. We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our UK&E Growth Marketing team. This is a hands‑on, developing role that sits at the heart of how Serco tells its story – producing high‑quality visual content across digital, print and multimedia channels for some of our most senior stakeholders. You'll be mentored by the Graphic Design Lead and work across a team of 20 marketing, communications and digital professionals. It's a role that offers genuine exposure and development for someone early in their career who is ready to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high‑quality visual assets across digital and print channels, including web, social media, email campaigns and presentations.
  • Interpret creative briefs and contribute ideas, working with guidance from the Graphic Design Lead.
  • Apply Serco's brand guidelines accurately and consistently across all outputs.
  • Support the creation of high‑profile presentations, reports and video content for senior stakeholders.
  • Assist with filming and content capture using basic equipment, and support simple video and motion content editing.
  • Manage and upload content to Brandbank and support internal SharePoint site management.
  • Work across multiple concurrent projects, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Champion accessibility in all creative outputs.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has at least 1-2 years of professional graphic design experience and a strong portfolio. This isn’t an entry‑level or graduate role – you’ll need to hit the ground running and be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment alongside senior stakeholders.

Essential

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Good layout, typography and composition skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately to brand guidelines.
  • Professional maturity and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, including occasional requirements outside standard hours.
  • Flexibility around travel – primarily hybrid but with periodic visits to Serco offices as required.

Desirable

  • Animation, motion graphics or video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Experience creating content for social media and short‑form digital channels.
  • Experience working in‑house or in a B2B, public sector or large‑scale corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management platforms (ex. Brandbank, Bynder or similar).
  • Adobe Express and Canva experience.

A portfolio is required as part of your application. Please include examples of brand/print, digital and presentation design where possible.
