Title: Firing Security Apprentice | Location: HMP Fosse Way | Working Week: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday | Apprenticeship Qualification: Level 3 in Fire and Security System | Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 3 Years | Salary: £25,466 per annum

Serco is offering an apprenticeship opportunity for a Firing Security Apprentice based at HMP Fosse Way in Leicester. In this role, you will support the installation, maintenance, and operation of firing and security systems while gaining hands-on experience and working towards your qualification as part of your apprenticeship.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the wider team to support the delivery, maintenance, and servicing of firing and security systems as part of contracts held by the business, while developing your knowledge and practical skills throughout the apprenticeship.
  • Maintenance on fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, intruder alarms.

What you’ll need to do the role

  • Maths and English at grade 4/C or above
  • Security clearance vetting checks to the required SC level will be performed by Serco for the candidate.
  • Interest or experience in engineering, electrical, or security systems
