Serco are recruiting for Casual Fire Fighting Instructors to join the team based at Warsash Maritime Academy to assist in the delivery of high‑quality courses to the Maritime and offshore industries. This opportunity is offered as a zero‑hour contract and requires flexibility to work within the contract when required.
Main Accountabilities
- Adhere to Warsash Maritime Academy’s (WMA) quality assurance procedures.
- Carry out instructional duties on firefighting courses organised by WMA, including practical demonstrations and exercises, ensuring that standards of training are in accordance with specific company, national or international guidelines.
- Ensure the health, safety and welfare of staff/students in accordance with WMA Fire School safety procedures, including rendering immediate first aid if necessary.
- Carry out support services in connection with the functions of the Fire School, including care and maintenance of premises and equipment.
- Assess individual students or groups of students in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Undertake personal development as required by WMA for the efficient delivery of courses.
- Carry out administrative or other duties by agreement as required.
