Working Hours & Shift Details

We operate all year round, and due to the nature of the work we often work a range of shifts covering day times, weekends, and bank holidays. Your contractual working week is an average of 37.5 hours per week, with a rolling rota that includes weekends. Evening shifts range from 5 pm to 1 am; flexibility is key to the role as there may be occasions when you are required to start earlier or finish later. The rota is provided approximately 10 weeks in advance, giving you the flexibility to enjoy meaningful time off and to balance work and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities

On a day‑to‑day basis, you’ll head out to visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment. You’ll either work alone or alongside a Monitoring Support Officer. With each individual you meet, you build their confidence in you and in the justice system, reassuring them of their safety and that of the public. Each successful case directly reduces pressure on the prison system and gives ex‑prisoners a chance to reintegrate into their communities.

Training & Mentorship

You will receive three weeks of training and will be accompanied by an experienced Officer/Mentor on the road until you’re comfortable in your new role.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A valid UK driver’s licence
  • Reasonably fit
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to build relationships and rapport with individuals you meet

What matters most is that you are committed to making a difference to the lives of others. Experience is not required; you will learn during the two weeks initial training course and through shadowing & mentorship from other experienced colleagues.
