Serco Limited is one of the UK’s leading national operators of leisure centres, destination venues and elite sporting facilities. We are recruiting an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of Ferry Leisure Centre. This is a key leadership role within a live operational environment, with full accountability for compliance, health & safety, service delivery, and commercial performance against contractual KPIs.
You will provide visible leadership to site teams, champion a customer-first culture, and ensure facilities are consistently safe, clean, and professionally presented for both elite athletes and the local community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead compliance, health & safety, and safeguarding across the site
- Deliver operational performance in line with contract requirements and KPIs
- Manage internal and external audits and quality assurance processes
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance in collaboration with technical teams
- Lead, motivate, and develop high‑performing operational teams
- Act as Manager on Duty, ensuring excellent customer experience at all times
- Proven experience leading teams in a leisure, facilities, or service‑led environment
- Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Customer‑focused, organised, and commercially aware
- Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills
- First Aid at Work qualification, or willingness to obtain
- This role may be subject to a DBS check in line with Serco policy
