Serco have a fantastic opportunity for a Gas Manager to be a part of the Northwest team for the AASC Contract. As a key member of the Field Operations Team, this role is responsible for the delivery of Gas Trade services within AASC Operations. Reporting to the Head of Field Operations NW, this role is to provide support & technical assistance to the Gas Team in line with the business needs, health and safety, legal/statutory requirements and to ensure that the governing body registration is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a full working operational knowledge of all Gas systems within the portfolio and maintain compliance.
  • Carry out site audits to support compliance / work & project activity.
  • Ensure that the business delivers a first-class service to their clients in line with agreed Contract SLA's and KPI's. Health & Safety and Compliance measures are always adhered to.
  • Establish and monitor the operational service levels to ensure contract SLA's & KPI's are achieved.
  • Ensure that you have a comprehensive understanding of the AASC contract requirements and key deliverables.
  • Ensure KPI data is robust and accurate, identifying and driving opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Ensure Gas Safe registration is maintained and all staff members have the correct PPE and are working in line with Health and Safety procedures but with the governing body and the business.
  • Ensure that all installations and working practices comply with Gas Safe regulations.
  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for the safety, technical standard and quality of all categories of Gas work, including installation, certification of works, repair and alterations carried out under the scope of the contract.
  • Understand the inspection, testing, verification, certification, and reporting procedures for the range of gas work undertaken.
  • Work on a full-time basis in the Gas Department.
  • Manage the workflows of Gas team by Date and Job Order on AORA (in house system).
  • Ensure that the equipment, documentation, and records are available for inspection when required by Gas Safe i.e. Calibration Certs and the Audit files.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the Onboarding Processes (Gas) to ensure that it is conducted within SLA.
  • Raise Purchase orders for electrical vendors and ensure timely payment.
  • Liaise with Gas contractors as and when required.
  • Provide the technical training and requirements for the team of Gas Engineers.
  • Work with Compliance Team and be responsible for Assure Reporting.
  • If required, manage the Gas Apprentice team as and when the business decides to launch scheme.
  • Make recommendations for any maintenance initiatives to ensure all properties are fit for purpose.
  • Manage and report on the devolved maintenance budget for all materials, plant, tools and inventory in their portfolio.
  • Ensure the management of sub-contractors is undertaken to provide a high level of quality and commercial outputs.
  • Review all vehicle tracking information to ensure all Trade Engineers are optimising working days.
  • Complete all HR requirements for all Trade Engineers.
  • Develop a specification list for key material products to ensure purchasing can be optimised for the contract.

Qualifications

  • Managerial / Team Leader experience.
  • Gas qualifications are essential for this role including as a minimum: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1.
  • At least 3 years knowledge and experience in commercial and social housing.
  • Successful leadership of a mobile team.
  • Excellent people management skills, with demonstrable evidence of influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels to deliver results.
  • Proven communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the regions and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver's licence is essential).
