Serco have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Training Manager to join the Contract Leadership Team (CLT) at RAF Brize Norton. In this role you will be responsible for the Quality System, as defined in the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and MAA Regulatory Articles for the Brize Support Contract (BSC) at RAF Brize Norton. You will carry out associated Quality and Training roles and duties as directed by the business needs across all areas of BSC (Logistics, Airfield Services and Engineering). We are looking for a technically competent and experienced individual with the confidence to communicate effectively and is eager to make an impact in a high-performing aviation environment.
Main Accountabilities:
- Focal point for Quality and Training Assurance for Logistics, Engineering and Airfield Services.
- Lead on the Quality Management System, the Quality Assurance plan and ensure continuous improvement.
- Responsible for delivery of the BSC 1st line audit programme, and monitoring of progress of closing actions.
- Ensure 1st line compliance across the contract areas, including MRP 145 Regulations, ISO Standard 9001:2015, and other regulated standards are satisfactorily maintained.
- Prepare and support all external audits, including MAA, ISO, and Authority compliance.
- Provide updates and reports to the BSC Leadership, Teams and the RAF on all assurance matters, including compiling periodic reports and trends and analysis.
- Develop and mentor colleagues on all quality and training assurance matters.
- Support BSC with Aviation Quality and Occurrence Reporting including recording on ASSURE.
- Engage with RAF and external assurance agencies on quality assurance and training matters, participating in Quality and Training activities, meetings and working groups.
- Provide Human Factor (HF) face-to-face training to staff.
- Support a safety culture, ensuring adherence to internal and external safety standards.
What you need to do the job:
- Lead Auditor Experience and Qualifications preferably within an Aviation environment.
- Experience in aviation, especially compliance with MRP 145 regulations.
- A deep understanding of ISO 9001:2015 across all BSC areas.
- Hold (or in the process of attaining) an appropriate level of professional registration.
- Experience in conducting audits and investigations.
- Demonstrate detailed understanding of the regulated air environment.
- Good understanding of training assurance including authorisations and record keeping.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders.
- Strong networking and influencing skills with key stakeholders.
- Analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly, communicate key messages simply and effectively to the business to assist decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence and ability to deliver formal reports and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Technically competent.
- Hold a full driving licence and have colour perception for airfield driving (CP3).
- Be competent in using IT applications.
All Serco staff working on the Brize Norton Support Contract (BSC) must have SC Security Clearance which will be undertaken once an offer has been made and accepted. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Security Clearance.
