Location: Bisham Abbey, Marlow, SL7 1RR

Salary: £26,200 plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Full time 39 hours per week, working Monday – Sunday 5 out of 7 shifts either 6am – 2pm or 11.30am – 8pm.

As a Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant in our Bisham Abbey team, you’ll help create high‑quality meals that support guests, athletes, and visitors — contributing to experiences that make a positive impact every day. You’ll be part of a collaborative kitchen where you can learn, grow, and play an important role in ensuring we deliver nutritious, well‑prepared dishes for the community that uses the centre. Your work will help keep the kitchen running smoothly, supporting both colleagues and the wider purpose of the site.

What you’ll do as a Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant

  • Assist with basic food preparation including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
  • Support stock rotation, storage processes, and inventory checks
  • Contribute to cooking tasks under the guidance of senior chefs
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment when required
  • Ensure ingredients are correctly labelled and stored
  • Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries
