As a Receptionist in our Citizen Services team, you’ll be the welcoming face of Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure Complex. You’ll deliver excellent front‑line customer service in a busy leisure environment, supporting customers both in person and through a range of communication channels. Your work will help create impactful solutions by ensuring every visitor has a positive experience, supporting sales and retention targets, and helping events, parties and activities run smoothly. You’ll play an important role in building trust, care and pride in our services within the local community.
What you’ll do as a Receptionist:
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure continuous availability of customer information and promotional materials.
- Handle customer enquiries face to face, by telephone and via email.
- Take customer bookings at the reception desk and over the phone.
- Respond professionally to customer compliments and complaints.
- Support membership, retention and sales targets.
- Organise retail stock displays and identify best‑selling items.
- Process payments through the POS system and reconcile monies accurately.
- Maintain a high standard of organisation and cleanliness within the Front of House area.
- Organise birthday party packages and support special events and one‑off bookings.
- Support rota organisation and monitor standards during events and parties.
- Communicate event and party requirements clearly to other departments to ensure smooth delivery.
To be successful you should:
- Have previous experience working face to face with customers in a busy Front of House environment.
- Have experience handling cash and using computerized booking and POS systems.
- Possess strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy; a calm and professional approach when working under pressure.
- Have excellent communication skills across a range of channels including phone and email.
- Be confident using a variety of IT applications.
- Have a proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative and solve problems.
- Have Maths and English at Level C or equivalent, or willingness to work towards required qualifications.
