You will define and implement semantic modelling standards, ensure consistency and reliability of data products, and act as a specialist advisor on analytics engineering, BI consumption models, and reporting.

You will play a key role in shaping scalable, governed, and reusable data assets that support enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, and advanced insight generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build advanced dashboards and reporting solutions (Power BI, Databricks or similar) to support KPI, operational, strategic, and ad-hoc insight needs.
  • Design and maintain enterprise semantic models (dimensional, canonical, and lakehouse gold layers) ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Publish certified, governed datasets and define standards for BI consumption, enabling reliable self-service analytics.
  • Partner with data engineering to improve data quality, enforce security standards, and maintain lineage, metadata, and documentation.
  • Implement and optimise data pipelines and analytics models using Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native tooling.
  • Coach and support analytics engineers and analysts through code reviews, mentoring, and best practice adoption.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, prioritised, high-value data products while challenging ambiguity and assumptions.
  • Act as an SME for analytics solutions across Azure/AWS and Databricks-based environments.
  • Drive performance, cost efficiency, and scalability of analytics solutions through continuous optimisation.
  • Promote modern analytics engineering standards including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and reusable patterns.
What You’ll Need to Do the Role
  • Strong BI experience across Microsoft stack (Power BI, SQL Server/SSRS, Excel); exposure to Tableau, Qlik, SAP Analytics Cloud or Domo desirable.
  • Expert in data modelling (dimensional and lakehouse architectures) and enterprise dataset design.
  • Advanced Databricks and Spark engineering (Delta Lake, performance tuning, orchestration, schema evolution).
  • Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure or AWS) and secure, scalable data architectures.
  • Experience implementing data quality frameworks, validation, profiling, and documentation standards.
  • Expertise in semantic modelling, metrics layers, and certified dataset design for BI consumption.
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and data synthesis capability.
  • 5+ years' experience in enterprise-scale analytics, BI, or analytics engineering environments.
  • Proven experience delivering production-grade analytics solutions in complex organisations.
  • Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, Databricks) - desirable.
  • SC clearance (or willingness to obtain it).
