As Health and Fitness Development Manager, you'll help shape and deliver health and fitness programmes across multiple sites, supporting colleagues to provide outstanding experiences for members. Your work will focus on embedding best practice, growing participation, developing commercial fitness opportunities, and creating innovative solutions that support long-term growth. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on communities by helping more people engage with health and fitness activities that improve wellbeing. Through coaching, training, and strategic support, you'll help create welcoming environments where members can thrive while supporting the continued success and future development of leisure services.

What you'll do as a Health and Fitness Development Manager:

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the health and fitness strategy across multiple leisure facilities.
  • Deliver training, coaching, and support to site teams to embed member journey programmes, products, frameworks, and operational standards.
  • Support the growth of personal training services through recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance support for personal trainers.
  • Work with sites to develop commercially effective group exercise programmes that drive participation, retention, and member satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with management teams to improve fitness products, member experiences, and operational performance.
  • Contribute to innovation, learning and development initiatives, new contract mobilisations, and wider business improvement projects.

Does this sound like you?

  • Significant experience within the health and fitness industry, ideally including leadership experience within a fitness management role.
  • Strong knowledge of personal training, group exercise programmes, and member engagement strategies.
  • Experience leading, developing, and coaching high-performing teams.
  • Confident delivering training, influencing stakeholders, and building trusted relationships across multiple locations.
  • Experience managing operational or commercial performance within leisure, fitness, or community-focused facilities.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to support sites.
