Salary: £27,000 plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday: 6am to 2.30pm or 2pm-10.30pm, Weekends: 6.30am to 7pm

To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for a Duty Manager to join our Team. As a Duty Manager in our Leisure team, you'll lead day-to-day operations at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment where every visit leaves a positive impression. This is a hands-on role where your leadership helps create active, healthy communities. You'll oversee operations, support colleagues, and ensure the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer experience, making a meaningful difference to everyone who walks through our doors.

What you'll do as a Duty Manager

  • Lead and motivate the operational team to deliver a safe, high-quality, and memorable customer experience
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the centre while on shift
  • Act as the Health and Safety responsible person, ensuring full compliance with all regulations and procedures
  • Manage incidents, emergencies, and follow-up investigations professionally and effectively
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and facility operations
  • Support team development through coaching, training, and clear communication

  • Experience in a Duty Manager or supervisory role within leisure, hospitality, or a service-led environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams confidently
  • A solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation and its practical application
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A proactive, organised approach with a positive, can-do attitude

Vetting and checks: This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
