Overview
As Information Governance Manager, you will lead the governance of information processing activities and lifecycle standards to support compliance and informed decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed governance across a regulated environment and drive strategy for data ownership, retention, and data quality. Your work shapes organisation-wide standards and reporting to the Data Protection Officer, delivering measurable improvements in information governance.

Responsibilities
- Own RoPA governance, ensure quality and updates of processing inventories
- Lead OneTrust governance, data quality standards, and lifecycle controls
- Develop and maintain information ownership frameworks across units
- Own retention and deletion frameworks and disposal standards
- Maintain the processor register and third-party processing governance
- Improve data mapping and information lifecycle practices
- Prioritise improvement activities from assurance findings and stakeholder feedback
- Provide clear governance risk reporting to the DPO
Key requirements
- Experience in information governance, records management, privacy operations, data governance, compliance or risk management
- Practical experience of RoPA, processing inventories, retention standards, data mapping or comparable records
- Good understanding of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and lifecycle principles
- Experience working with business owners to establish accountability and resolve data quality gaps
- Knowledge of governance platforms such as OneTrust (beneficial)
