Permanent, Full Time (Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week between 08:00 and 17:00. Some weekend, evening and night work may be required to support operational requirements)

As an Estates Technical Manager in our Health team, you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality technical facilities management services within a busy healthcare environment. You’ll ensure critical building services, plant, equipment and infrastructure remain safe, compliant and operational, helping to support exceptional healthcare services every day.

What you’ll do as an Estates Technical Manager:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of technical estates and hard facilities management services within a healthcare environment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, statutory and contractual requirements while maintaining operational excellence.
• Deputise for Contract Manager and represent Estates department when required.
• Produce and manage the delivery of the annual planned preventative maintenance schedule for all engineering systems and critical infrastructure.
• Build strong relationships with clients, NHS stakeholders, colleagues and third-party providers, acting as a trusted partner and advocate for Serco.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Estates team, creating headroom for people to grow through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
• Manage operational risks, asset replacement programmes and maintenance activities to ensure the ongoing safety, efficiency and reliability of the estate.
• Support financial performance through budget management, forecasting, cost control and the identification of continuous improvement opportunities.

Does this sound like you?

• HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or substantial industry experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification or higher in Health and Safety.
• Strong technical knowledge of building services, healthcare estates and Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs).
• Proven experience leading teams, managing performance and driving positive operational outcomes.
• Experience managing budgets, service improvement initiatives and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to build trust across a range of stakeholders.

Vetting and checks:

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
