Overview
In this Finance Manager role you will lead end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) for Serco’s UK business, overseeing a mixed onshore/offshore team and ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial results.
You will drive standardisation, control, and continuous improvement across a growing Global Finance Services (GFS) Hub.
The position offers leadership exposure across multiple contracts and a chance to shape finance processes in a complex, contract-led environment.
This is a hands-on transformation role with meaningful impact on financial insight and reporting quality.

Responsibilities
- Lead onshore Financial Accountants and offshore BPO resources and develop the team
- Own and deliver efficient month-end close across cost and revenue streams
- Review and approve material accounting adjustments to ensure accuracy and control
- Support Senior Finance Managers in understanding results for reporting
- Own aged balance sheet items and drive resolution with stakeholders
- Review balance sheet reconciliations for compliance with accounting manuals
- Build relationships with operational teams to improve financial processes and efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement and embedding smarter ways of working
- Partner with other Finance Managers to ensure standardisation, documentation, compliance and control
- Key requirements
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent
- Experience delivering monthly financial reporting in a complex environment
- Strong understanding of R2R processes and balance sheet control
- Experience leading teams onshore and offshore
- Commercially minded with ability to translate numbers into insight
- Proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies
