Make a meaningful impact as a Utility Officer with Serco Workforce Solutions. Working hours Monday to Friday Between 8am and 6pm (7.5 hours per day). This will be a 37.5 Hour FTC for 6 months with possibility to extend. Are you committed to operational excellence and sustainability? Serco is looking for a proactive and responsible Utility Swap Out Officer to support our carbon reduction initiatives and ensure the safety of our service users during utility meter upgrades. In this enabling role, you\’ll be the key point of contact for coordinating prepayment meter swap outs, working alongside utility engineers and internal teams to deliver a secure and consistent service.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely access to properties and secure them during engineer visits
- Chaperone engineers to safeguard service users
- Log attendance and completion of meter swap outs
- Collect and share meter data with internal teams
- Manage property keys and ensure their safe return
- Explain the meter swap process to any service users present
- Report any incidents or safeguarding concerns
Qualifications
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Experience in customer-facing or safeguarding roles (desirable)
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance, which Serco will request on your behalf
