We are looking to recruit a Swimming Co-ordinator to join our team. As a Swimming Coordinator, you will lead and shape a high-quality swimming lessons programme that supports skills for life, builds confidence and strengthens community wellbeing. This is a hands-on leadership role where your work has real purpose, helping children and adults develop essential water safety skills, while growing participation, improving customer experience and ensuring our centres are the swim lesson provider of choice in the local community.
Responsibilities
- Manage, develop and grow the centre's swimming lessons programme, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong customer retention.
- Lead, support and mentor a team of qualified swimming teachers, including recruitment, rotas, performance management and ongoing development.
- Coordinate staffing and programmes to meet customer demand, operational requirements and financial targets.
- Develop and introduce new courses and sessions, including intensive and school swimming programmes, to meet community needs.
- Build strong relationships with customers, schools and local partners to support outreach, engagement and programme growth.
- Deliver swimming lessons when required to maintain service continuity and avoid cancellations.
Qualifications
- A Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 Award Swim Teacher qualification.
- NPLQ qualification or NRASTC (full training can be provided).
- Experience managing or supervising teams within a busy leisure or aquatic environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust with children, parents and colleagues.
- Confidence using IT systems, including booking platforms, Outlook and Excel.
Vetting and checks
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
