Contract Manager in Mountsorrel

As a Contract Manager in our Environmental Services team, you'll lead the delivery of essential waste, recycling and street cleansing services across Charnwood. You'll be responsible for operational performance, people leadership, financial accountability and continuous improvement, helping to ensure vital community services delivered safely, efficiently and effectively.

What you'll do as a Contract Manager

• Lead and manage the overall performance of the environmental services contract, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.
• Provide leadership to operational and supervisory teams, driving high performance, employee engagement and a culture of trust, care, innovation and pride.
• Take full accountability for financial performance, budgets, resources, fleet operations and commercial outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with local authority stakeholders, trade unions, partners and community representatives to support excellent service delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and strategic development to meet future service challenges and growth opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, environmental and legislative requirements while promoting a positive safety culture.
• Extensive experience leading large operational teams within a complex service delivery or contract management environment.
• Strong financial management skills, with experience managing budgets and delivering commercial and operational performance targets.
• Proven ability to build productive customer and stakeholder relationships and inspire trust through effective leadership.
• Experience leading change, continuous improvement and transformational programmes.
• A management qualification, degree or equivalent leadership experience.

Vetting and checks

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
