Overview

You will be the person behind the daily operation of our leisure centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for the community.

From opening the building to handling operational challenges, you will deliver high‑quality customer care, supervise teams, and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day operations, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Act as keyholder, taking responsibility for opening and closing the facility.
  • Coordinate colleagues across front‑of‑house, wet‑side and dry‑side activities.
  • Deliver excellent customer care, handling enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally.
  • Monitor health and safety standards, carry out checks and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Respond confidently to incidents and emergencies in line with established processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a leisure, fitness or customer‑focused environment.
  • Proven ability to supervise or lead teams effectively, and lead by example.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for customer service.
  • Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Flexible, reliable approach to working shifts.
  • Desirable but not essential: NPLQ qualification – candidates must meet the requirements to achieve the qualification.
  • Salary & Benefits

£29,200 per annum plus comprehensive benefits including 21 days holiday (plus bank holidays), pension scheme, training, wellbeing programmes, discounts, and more.

Hours & Schedule

Permanent, full‑time, 40 hours per week – shift‑based including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
