Here at Bolton Community Leisure Trust our goal is to encourage active, healthy lifestyles in an environment that is safe, warm, clean, friendly and fun. We are recruiting for a full-time Lifeguard to join our centre. As a Lifeguard you’ll be an important part of life here at the centre as you ensure that everyone can use the pool in safety and that they have access to everything they need to enjoy their visit.
You will be providing customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and setup of pool equipment. When needed – you’ll help to save lives. Our leisure centre has a close-knit, supportive team, working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer care to people of all ages and interact with customers in a welcoming, helpful manner.
- Supervise activities, maintain cleanliness in the pool area, and ensure safe handling and setup of pool equipment.
- Ensure pool safety and respond appropriately to incidents; assist with life-saving actions if required.
- Work as part of a close-knit, supportive team to deliver an inclusive leisure hub for the community.
- Support day-to-day facility operations as part of the Serco-managed team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills; experience in a leisure or other customer-facing environment
- Safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations
- Strong swimming skills
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society)
- Eligible to work in the UK; ideally 18+ for this full-time role
