About the role

As an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver you will deliver a full waste and recycling service to local residents and businesses in Lambeth. Your efforts help maintain high community standards while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete a pre‑planned route as part of a team of two drivers, collecting waste from estates and commercial properties.
  • Alternate driving duties with your colleague, staying active and helping to get things done quickly and efficiently.
  • Be the public face of Serco in the community.
  • Ensure vehicle safety checks are completed and that the truck is ready and road‑safe before setting out.

Qualifications & requirements

  • Hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Be physically fit and healthy.
  • Be a dedicated, friendly and professional team player.
  • Be willing to go the extra mile on your rounds to help your team hit its targets.
  • Conscientious and able to operate an electronic tablet to log daily work.

Working hours & location

Location: SE24 0PZ. Full time: 39 hours per week. Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm; Fridays 6:00 am – 1:30 pm, with guaranteed weekend work and bank holidays available. Salary: £40,183.48 per annum plus excellent benefits.
