In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping knowledge and behaviours across a wide range of essential safety topics. From first aid to fire safety, your expertise will help individuals and organisations meet standards, reduce risk, and build a culture of care and accountability.
What You'll Do as a Health and Safety Tutor
- Deliver engaging, face‑to‑face training sessions across health and safety disciplines
- Teach key topics including risk assessment, manual handling, and hazard awareness
- Deliver specialist training in food safety, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), cross‑contamination, and allergen management
- Train learners in fire safety, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and use of extinguishers
- Deliver first aid training, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) use, and emergency response protocols
- Assess learner competence through written assessments and end‑of‑course examinations
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and certification documentation
- Review and update training materials to reflect the latest legislation and best practice
Qualifications
- Relevant and in‑date certifications such as First Aid at Work instructor, NEBOSH or IOSH, and food safety qualifications
- Practical experience within a health and safety, education, or commercial environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners
- Confidence delivering training to diverse groups with varying levels of experience
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and professional development, Disability Confident

Vetting and Checks
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
