As a Senior Lifeguard, you will be an important part of the leisure team, ensuring that everyone can use the pool in safety and that they have access to everything they need to enjoy their visit. You'll also play a key role in ensuring the safe and successful day-to-day operation of the sports centre by supporting the Duty Manager in leading operational teams, maintaining high standards across the facility, and helping to create a welcoming environment where customers and colleagues can thrive. - Provide customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and set up of pool equipment.
- Support the Duty Manager and act as Relief Duty Manager when required (training to be provided).
- Act as the responsible person and key holder when required, including opening and closing the facility.
- Supervise, motivate and support Lifeguards and Leisure Assistants throughout each shift.
- Oversee poolside operations and ensure the safe supervision of all activities.
- Carry out operational checks, audits and inspections while maintaining high standards of customer service and cleanliness throughout the centre.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
You are a strong and confident swimmer (competency assessment at interview) - You have supervisory experience or are ready to take the next step in your leisure career
- You're an excellent communicator with strong leadership and customer service skills
- You can stay calm under pressure and respond confidently to incidents and emergencies
- You take pride in maintaining high operational standards and creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone
