Fleet Tender Master – Maritime Operations
Location: Primarily Greenock PA15 2AR and surrounding areas of operations including Faslane (G84 8HL).
Employment: Permanent, Full Time Mon-Fri (48 hours).
Salary: Competitive salary with annual reviews.
Overview
Serco are recruiting for a Fleet Tender Master to join their Maritime team based at Greenock in Scotland. As the Fleet Tender Master you will be responsible for operating the vessel in a professional, effective, and economical manner to Flag State and Class Standards. The Master presides over all crew members under their command and is responsible for the safety of the vessel and its crew, in compliance with STCW95, MARPOL regulations and COLREGs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for safe navigation, manoeuvring and mooring of vessels.
- Ensure towing services are performed safely and efficiently.
- Responsible for safety of the crew, vessel and cargo at all times.
- Manage training and orientation of all crew members.
- Prevent pollution of the environment at all times.
- Maintain up to date publications and certificates.
- Implement company procedures, policies, temporary instructions.
- Accurate vessel administration – planned maintenance and defect reporting.
- Line Manager responsibilities for crew – absence management, HR actions and PDRs.
- Perform safety drills on a regular basis.
- Liaise with Operations cell and Management Team as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers, management and office staff.
Qualifications
- Qualifications held must be in line with relevant MHR 202.9 Port Certification Matrices.
- Leadership and developing people skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Health, Safety and Risk Management awareness.
- Must be able to obtain Home Office Security Clearance.
- Driving Licence (Role will involve driving Serco lease and hire vehicles).
