Overview
Working as part of a team supporting both the electrical and mechanical infrastructure and assets, this is a key leadership and technical role responsible for managing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining statutory, mandatory and contractual compliance across all services to include; High Voltage and Low Voltage Systems, Lighting Systems, Ventilation Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Cooling Systems, Building Management Systems, UPS and IPS Systems, Security Systems etc. We are offering the opportunity to work in a diverse technical environment that provides the scope to not only expand and broaden existing skills, but develop new skills across a wide range of plant and equipment in what is a specialised engineering environment within the NHS.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review maintenance policies, procedures, risk assessments and method statements for plant and equipment related activity.
- Manage and maintain compliance to appropriate legislation, standards and guidance.
- Management and input into third party contractor services.
- Ensure all relevant statutory inspections etc are carried out in line with requirements.
- Manage and promote zero tolerance Health & Safety culture.
- Utilisation of the estates CAFM system to manage and plan work to include reactive, planned maintenance, asset management, scheduling etc.
- Work with Project Managers to provide technical and managerial support in the delivery of capital schemes to include design and commissioning support.
- Management of specialised systems to include High and Low Voltage Systems, Fire alarm systems, Ventilation Systems etc.
- Lead, mentor and develop the front line teams and third party contractors.
- Co‑ordinate and manage engineering shutdowns.
- Involvement on both internal and external audits.
- Requirement to work hands on where and when required.
- Deputise in certain aspects for the Engineering Manager.
- Participate in the On‑Call escalation service to support on site staff out of hours.
- Carry out Authorised Person duties following training and formal appointment in at least one discipline – discipline(s) to be determined.

Qualifications
- HND/HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Technically competent to be an Authorised Person for Low Voltage and/or High Voltage systems
- Completion of a recognised appropriate Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or other relevant structured training programme in an electrical engineering discipline.
- Appropriate NVQ level 3 electrical engineering certificated qualifications, including AM2(E), 18th edition, inspection and testing.
- Proven experience managing refrigerant installations, FGAS registers and projects.
- In depth knowledge of refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of Electrical Distribution, IPS and UPS, Technical Fault Finding, Building Management Systems, Dali Lighting, Air Tube systems, Fire Alarm Systems and other electrical related systems.

- Computer literacy with ability to work with Microsoft applications.

Compensation
Full‑time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week). Salary £44,408.11 pa (£49,257.35 pa + on‑call allowance) plus Excellent Corporate Benefits Package.

Serco Health – Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Reporting into the Technical Engineering Manager (Electrical) you will be part of the senior engineering services team providing high level technical support within the Hard FM estates service delivered by Serco to our customers at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. This includes support to the front line day to day maintenance team, small works, lifecycle replacement work and capital projects.
