As a Transport Manager, you'll play a vital role in delivering a safe, compliant and reliable fleet operation that supports essential services across our contracts. You'll ensure vehicles are maintained, available and fully compliant with Operator Licence requirements, helping our teams deliver for communities every day. You'll focus on keeping the fleet run efficiently, supporting frontline teams to deliver services without disruption. By maintaining high standards and working closely with stakeholders, you'll help ensure operations run as they should, day in and day out.
What you'll do as a Transport Manager:
- Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements and all relevant UK road transport legislation
- Manage fleet maintenance planning to ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Oversee daily fleet availability to meet contract requirements and maintain service delivery
- Monitor third-party providers to ensure performance meets contractual and legislative standards
- Manage vehicle incidents, defects, and breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including asset registers, driver qualifications, and compliance documentation
You'll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- A National Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU road transport legislation
- Experience in fleet management within a complex operational environment
- Confidence managing compliance, data, and operational performance
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams and stakeholders
