What we do:
- We put our Customers and Families First. They are the driving force behind everything we do.
- We drive forward improvements for them to ensure the service they receive, whether reactive repairs or a major project, is completed safely and on time.
In order to achieve this, we have 4 core values: open, caring, agile and collaborative. These are at the heart of everything we do.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of Billable Works across the Defence estate. This role is central to ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety and value, while meeting statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements.
You will take ownership of projects from planning through to completion, coordinating supply chain partners and ensuring that suitably qualified and equipped operatives are deployed to deliver works safely, on time and to the required standard. You will be responsible for reviewing risk assessments and method statements, maintaining robust safe systems of work and ensuring full compliance with JSP 375, asbestos and legionella management requirements.
Working closely with local DIO representatives, site managers and end users, you will agree project scope, priorities and delivery programmes, ensuring appropriate work plans, budgets and resources are in place to meet changing operational needs. You will monitor performance against KPIs, manage site risks, maintain accurate records within CAFM systems and ensure all project documentation is completed and issued in a timely manner.
From a commercial perspective, you will manage costs, stakeholder expectations and financial reporting, ensuring works are delivered efficiently and represent value for money. You will contribute to wider estate and safety planning documentation and support the effective management of contract risk, while identifying opportunities to support the MoD’s carbon reduction and sustainability objectives.
About you:
You will have proven experience supervising teams within a project management or site-based delivery environment, with strong capability in planning, cost control, stakeholder management and performance management. You will be confident leading teams to achieve KPIs, managing safe systems of work and making sound decisions in a live operational environment.
A qualification at HND level (or equivalent experience) in a building, civil, electrical or mechanical engineering discipline is essential, along with a management-level health and safety qualification such as SMSTS. You will be comfortable using IT systems including CAFM platforms and Microsoft applications, and committed to ongoing professional development.
Experience within construction, property maintenance or defence environments is highly desirable, along with a working knowledge of CDM regulations, NEC contracts and statutory compliance requirements. Strong communication skills, the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and end users, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach are essential to success in this role.
What We Offer:
- 6% employee matched pension contribution
- 25 days annual leave
- Single private medical cover
- Life assurance 2x annual salary
