Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager for Billable Works, the Principal Project Manager will manage a team responsible for developing the annual programme, scoping of projects, main contractor selection, and the safe and profitable delivery of all projects. This role will see you manage a team of project managers with weekly tracker updates to deliver all projects on the annual Billable Works programme, project manage complex or high-profile projects, ensure projects are delivered to the appropriate legislative and JSP standards, report tracker updates to SPM and HoBW, ensure all projects have a formal brief, specifications, procurement plans and tender documents, and is robustly managed, in accordance with the contract and are delivered to build programmes.

You will also drive continuous improvement throughout the billable works function including but not limited to Commercial and Supply Chain management, implement processes and guidance across the contract to ensure consistency of delivery, manage main contractors in line with Vivo supply chain management, ensure compliance with policies and procedures and delivery standards for managing the delivery including compliance with Health and Safety requirements including the CDM Regulations and Control of Asbestos Regulations, and be responsible for client and stakeholder management including producing progress reports and ensuring stakeholders are fully communicated with throughout the life of the projects.

You will be managing new build, refurb/refit and demolition construction projects at RAF Alconbury and RAF Lakenheath. Candidates must be based within a one hour commute of either of these sites.

What You Need To Do The Job:

First and foremost, you should be an experienced Senior or Principal Project Manager from a construction background, or a senior Project Coordinator with HNC or equivalent qualification in Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. This role may also suit experienced Construction Site Managers with project delivery experience.

You should have a good understanding of Asbestos Awareness, IOSH Managing Safely and Legionella Control (L8). Strong IT skills are essential, along with excellent people management, budget management, communication and organisational skills. The ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance will be a condition of your employment.
