Location: RAF Alconbury - On site role

Permanent, Full time

At VIVO, we keep the Defence estate safe, compliant and operational, ensuring the people who live and work across military sites have the facilities they need every day. We're looking for an experienced Built Estate Manager to oversee the delivery of maintenance, compliance and estate management activities across a diverse portfolio of Defence sites. This is a varied leadership role where no two days are the same.

You'll work closely with the MOD, DIO, supply chain partners and operational teams to ensure statutory compliance, deliver exceptional customer service and drive continuous improvement across the estate. If you enjoy leading teams, solving complex challenges and making a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll take ownership of the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of planned, reactive and Billable Works, ensuring work is completed to the highest technical standards while delivering excellent value for money. You'll oversee supply chain performance, review risk assessments and safe systems of work, ensure compliance with JSP 375, asbestos and legionella requirements, and provide expert technical advice to colleagues, customers and stakeholders.

Working across multiple sites, you'll manage operational performance, budgets and commercial outcomes while maintaining accurate records within Maximo and ensuring all statutory documentation is completed correctly. You'll build strong relationships with Defence Infrastructure Organisation representatives, Heads of Establishment and end users, acting as a trusted advisor and helping identify opportunities to improve the estate, including supporting the MOD's carbon reduction ambitions.

You'll also play a key role in developing your team by providing leadership, coaching and technical guidance, promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring everyone has the skills, knowledge and support they need to perform at their best.

About You:

You'll have experience managing maintenance or estate operations within construction, facilities management or property maintenance, with a strong understanding of statutory compliance and safe systems of work. You'll be confident leading operational teams, managing contractors, balancing budgets and delivering excellent customer service across multiple stakeholders.

You will ideally hold an HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, together with a management-level health and safety qualification such as SMSTS. Experience with JSP 375, MOD environments, Maximo, asbestos, legionella or other compliance responsibilities would be advantageous, although we welcome candidates with transferable experience from similarly regulated industries.

Most importantly, you'll be a proactive leader with excellent communication skills, strong commercial awareness and a passion for delivering safe, compliant and high-quality services. If you're looking for an opportunity where your expertise will directly support the UK's Defence infrastructure while giving you the opportunity to develop your career within a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

The ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance will be a condition of your employment.

What We Offer:

  • 25 days annual leave
  • 6% employee matched pension contribution
  • Life assurance 2x annual salary
  • Single private medical cover
  • 1x professional subscription per year

At VIVO, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation that supports the needs of all. Therefore, we will make reasonable adjustments at interview through to employment for our candidates and strongly encourage applications from a diverse candidate pool. We are open to discussions around flexibility and flexible working and operate a hybrid work structure in many of our business areas. We are proudly a Disability Confident Leader. Disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at an interview.
