Seras is seeking experienced and dedicated machine operatives to support our wood waste processing operations, contributing directly to the UK’s transition to sustainable energy solutions. This role is integral to our ongoing success as the nation’s foremost supplier of biomass fuel.

About Us: Seras holds long-term supply contracts for nearly 2 million tonnes of biomass fuel annually, powering Energy Recovery Facilities across the country. Our operations generate renewable energy equivalent to the domestic electricity needs of approximately 2% of the UK population.
The Role: You will be responsible for operating machinery within a continuously running facility (24/7 operations), ensuring efficient processing of waste wood materials. This is a critical function within our production network and requires adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a machine operative in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
- A commitment to health and safety practices
- The ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced, shift‑based operation
- A proactive attitude and team‑oriented approach
Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off days/nights
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and uphold health and safety standards by promptly reporting accidents and near misses.
- Adhere to company procedures, policies, and protocols related to environmental protection and product quality.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production KPIs and performance targets.
- Safely operate driving machinery in accordance with training and certification requirements.
- Enforce site traffic management protocols to ensure the safe and efficient flow of operations.
- Provide training and mentorship to others, demonstrating competency in operational processes.
- Maintain product quality in alignment with customer specifications and company standards.
- Perform routine machine inspections to ensure equipment is operating effectively and safely.
