Role Description
The Site Manager – Waste Industry will oversee daily operations at a Seras UK facility in the Greater Cheshire West and Chester Area.
This full-time, on-site role is responsible for managing waste reception, processing, and fuel production activities to meet performance, safety, and environmental targets.
Key tasks include supervising site teams, coordinating shift activities, monitoring plant performance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
The Site Manager will work closely with logistics, maintenance, and commercial teams to optimise throughput, minimise downtime, and maintain quality standards for biomass fuel.
The role also involves reporting on site performance, managing contractors, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with company policies and industry best practice.
Qualifications
- Experience managing operations in the waste, biomass, energy, or heavy industrial sector, with strong knowledge of site processes and workflows.
- Proven leadership skills, including team supervision, performance management, and fostering a positive safety culture.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with experience implementing safe systems of work and risk assessments.
- Operational planning and organisational skills, including shift coordination, resource allocation, and prioritisation of tasks.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure in a fast‑paced operational environment.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, external partners, contractors, and regulators.
