About Sera Neon
Sera Neon is a growing, technology-focused consultancy delivering high-value transformation and managed services to enterprise clients. We operate through strong partnerships with vendors and alliances, combining deep delivery credibility with commercial focus. As we scale, we are deliberately strengthening our business development engine – prioritising relationship-led growth, alliance-driven opportunities, and disciplined outbound activity.
Role Overview
This role is a hands-on, front-line Business Development position focused on creating opportunity, not managing existing accounts. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:
- Proactively identifying new opportunities
- Building and nurturing senior client and partner relationships
- Shaping early-stage opportunities into qualified, commercially viable work
The role is heavily outbound and externally facing, requiring confidence in:
- Cold and warm outreach
- Client and partner meetings
- Alliance engagement
- Industry and partner events
You will work closely with alliances (especially our critical partnership with Oracle), internal delivery leaders, and bid teams to turn early conversations into real pipeline. This is not a marketing role, a delivery role, or a passive partnership function. It is about getting out, opening doors, and creating momentum.
Key Responsibilities
- Opportunity Creation & Outbound Activity
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn engagement, and referrals
- Secure first meetings with prospective clients and partners
- Maintain a disciplined rhythm of outreach, meetings, and follow-up
- Build early credibility through sharp discovery and problem-led conversations
- Client & Relationship Development
- Develop trusted relationships with prospective clients at multiple levels
- Understand client challenges and position Sera Neon’s capabilities clearly and credibly
- Progress relationships from first contact to scoped opportunity
- Maintain visibility and momentum across long sales cycles
- Alliances & Partner Engagement
- Build strong working relationships with alliance partners and vendors
- Identify joint opportunities, introductions, and co-selling activity
- Work closely with partner sales teams and alliance managers
- Represent Sera Neon as a credible, delivery-led partner
- Opportunity Shaping & Qualification
- Lead early-stage opportunity scoping and qualification
- Work with internal SMEs to shape propositions and solution outlines
- Ensure opportunities are commercially sound, winnable, and aligned to strategy
- Support bid and proposal activity where required
- Market Presence & Events
- Attend and represent Sera Neon at partner events, industry forums, and networking sessions
- Actively use events to build pipeline, not just brand visibility
- Follow up rigorously to convert conversations into opportunities
- Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain accurate pipeline data and forecasting
- Track activity, conversion rates, and opportunity progression
- Contribute insight on market trends, partner performance, and opportunity quality
Required Experience & Skills
- 3–5 years’ experience in a business development, sales, or partnership role
- Proven experience generating opportunities through outbound activity
- Experience in a similar role with any ERP/Packaged software, preferably Oracle
- Strong relationship-building capability with clients, partners, and vendors
- Comfortable leading early-stage commercial conversations
- Able to scope and qualify opportunities before handing into delivery or bids
- Resilient, proactive, and motivated by creating momentum from scratch
- Strong communication skills and professional presence in meetings and events
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience working with enterprise technology vendors or systems integrators
- Exposure to vendor-led or alliance-driven sales models
- Familiarity with enterprise transformation, managed services, or consultancy environments
- Experience working alongside bid or proposal teams
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary up to £70,000
- Commission linked directly to opportunity creation and conversion
- A visible, influential role at the front of the business
- The chance to help shape how Sera Neon grows its pipeline and partnerships
- A pragmatic, delivery-led culture with high standards and low bureaucracy
This role suits someone who:
- Enjoys opening doors
- Is confident picking up the phone
- Builds credibility quickly
- Thrives on meetings, relationships, and momentum
- Wants responsibility for creating opportunity, not waiting for it
