A well-established UK engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support continued growth across its industrial dust and fume extraction division. The company designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains bespoke dust and fume extraction systems for customers across a wide range of industrial and manufacturing sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven engineer who enjoys developing new business and building long-term customer relationships.
This is a remote, field-based position. You will spend the majority of the week visiting customers, developing new business opportunities, and conducting technical site surveys, with the remaining time working from home preparing quotations, proposals, and following up opportunities. Office and factory facilities are available in Yorkshire when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, networking, and customer visits
- Conduct site visits to assess customer requirements and identify suitable technical solutions
- Generate and manage sales opportunities from enquiry through to order placement
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and customer presentations
- Follow up inbound enquiries and maintain strong customer relationships
- Sell the company’s full portfolio of dust extraction systems, filtration equipment, and associated accessories
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and activity reporting
Requirements
- Previous experience within a technical sales or engineering sales environment
- Background within air movement, ventilation, dust extraction, filtration, HVAC, or similar engineering sectors
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to discuss engineered solutions confidently with customers
- Proven ability to generate and develop new business opportunities
- Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely and independently
- Located between the Midlands and South of the UK with willingness to travel regularly
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Full UK driving licence

- Experience selling industrial capital equipment or engineered systems
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Experience conducting technical site surveys
