Location: Nationwide (Field based role)Overview My client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager to join their growing composites division.
This is a field-based, standalone sales role focused on driving new business growth while managing an established portfolio of key accounts across the UK and Ireland.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of the composites industry with a proactive sales approach, helping to expand market share and support the company's ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities Develop and win new business opportunities, with approximately 70% of the role focused on new customer acquisition and 30% on managing key accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers across the composites sector.
Identify and develop opportunities within formulators and manufacturers using specialist raw materials.
Manage a healthy sales pipeline and deliver against agreed sales and activity KPIs.
Meet customer engagement targets while maintaining regular contact with existing accounts.
Work independently to identify commercial opportunities and manage your own territory effectively.
Travel throughout the UK and Ireland as required, including occasional visits to the head office in Kent.
Candidate Requirements Essential Strong technical knowledge of the composites sector.
Alternatively, a degree in Chemistry with some relevant industry experience.
Or significant proven experience in composites sales.
Understanding/awareness of polymer technologies including:* Epoxy Polyester Vinyl Ester Ability to distinguish between commodity polymers and specialist polymers/distribution models.
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a field-based role.
Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Previous experience selling specialist raw materials into formulators.
Existing relationships with key companies within the composites industry.
Experience working for or selling to leading composites manufacturers.
