An established engineering business specialising in conveyor systems, material handling and industrial automation is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Site Conveyor Engineer to join its growing team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to work on installation projects, maintenance, fault finding and automation upgrades for major industrial and logistics customers across the UK and Europe.

The Role

As a Site Conveyor Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering a range of installation, maintenance and engineering projects, including:

  • Installing and upgrading conveyor and material handling systems
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding on customer sites
  • Planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
  • Assisting with commissioning and system testing
  • Supporting controls and automation systems, including sensors, drives and PLC-controlled equipment
  • Working alongside project managers, design engineers and third-party contractors
  • Leading small site teams where required and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Supporting workshop activities and project preparation when not travelling

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience working on conveyor systems or material handling equipment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Experience within industrial automation or manufacturing environments
  • The ability to work independently and manage work on customer sites
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
  • A flexible approach to travel and occasional overtime

Desirable Experience

  • PLC fault finding
  • Variable speed drives (VFDs), sensors, safety systems and motor controls
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Experience within logistics, warehousing or parcel handling environments
  • IPAF, PASMA, forklift or other site safety certifications (or willingness to obtain them)
  • Experience working on live operational sites
