Are you an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer looking to take the next step in your career?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing Managed Service Provider seeking a Senior 2nd Line Engineer to join their technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical issues while developing their 3rd Line infrastructure skills.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of technologies with clear progression opportunities and ongoing investment in professional certifications.
The Role
As a Senior 2nd Line Engineer, you'll act as a key escalation point for the Service Desk, taking ownership of more complex technical issues while supporting a diverse client base.
You'll bridge the gap between 2nd and 3rd Line, working on both BAU support and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality 2nd Line technical support to a range of business clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop, server and network issues.
- Escalate and collaborate with the 3rd Line team where required.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations and project work.
- Support Microsoft 365 environments, Azure and Windows Server technologies.
- Maintain excellent customer service and regular client communication.
- Produce clear technical documentation and update service tickets.
- Mentor junior engineers where appropriate and share technical knowledge.
- Technical Skills
We're looking for experience with a number of the following
- Microsoft 365
- Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
- Windows Server
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Exchange Online
- Intune
- Networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs)
- Hyper-V and/or VMware
- Backup solutions
- Endpoint security solutions
- Experience working within an MSP environment is highly desirable.
