Job Ref: DescriptionOperations ManagerLocation: Liverpool- travel requiredSalary: Upto 55,000 DOE + Company CarJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentThe RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for the safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery of Power, Utilities, Telecoms and Construction activities across multiple contracts.The successful candidate will lead operational teams and oversee delivery across areas including power connections, fibre infrastructure, civils, utility works and associated infrastructure projects.You will be responsible for driving performance against contractual KPIs and SLAs, maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, quality and productivity.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational DeliveryManage the day-to-day delivery of Power, Utilities, Telecoms and Construction projects.Validate incoming works and ensure projects are priced in line with agreed contractual rates.Lead operational teams across surveying, planning, permitting, civils, construction and reinstatement.Drive delivery against customer commitments, contractual requirements and internal targets.Manage operational budgets and financial performance.Support forecasting, reporting and business planning.Work closely with commercial teams to maximise contract performance.Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, utility providers and ICPs regarding electrical connections, upgrades, diversions and disconnections.Oversee power applications, quotations, contestable and non-contestable works and energisation activities.Coordinate utility designs and power requirements to support network build programmes.Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.Contract ManagementEnsure compliance with contractual requirements, processes and industry standards.Act as the operational escalation point for customers and stakeholders.Attend customer performance reviews and operational meetings.Manage delivery against agreed KPIs, SLAs and financial targets.Identify and support opportunities for business growth.Resource & Workforce ManagementLead and develop operational managers, supervisors, planners, coordinators and field-based teams.Ensure effective allocation of labour, plant, vehicles and subcontract resources.Manage workforce capacity and forward planning.Monitor team performance and identify training and development requirements.Health, Safety, Environment & QualityPromote a strong safety-first culture across all operations.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including:Health & Safety at Work ActCDM RegulationsNRSWA requirementsHSEQ procedures and industry standardsConduct audits, site inspections and management reviews.Lead investigations into incidents, near misses and customer complaints.Drive continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.Customer & Stakeholder ManagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with customers, local authorities, utility providers, contractors and internal teams.Ensure clear communication throughout project lifecycles.Resolve operational, customer and stakeholder issues effectively.Represent the business at customer and operational meetings.
