We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Technician to join our vehicle maintenance team. The role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy vehicles and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with legal and company standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOTs and carry out safety checks.
- Maintain accurate service logs and complete job documentation.
- Collaborate with the workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.
Candidate Requirements
- Hands-on experience with HGVs, waste/refuse vehicles, or similar plant machinery.
- Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently in a busy workshop environment while following safety procedures.
- Full UK driving licence; HGV licence is advantageous but not required.
