AV Technician Salary: £26,500 - £27,500 DOE + Overtime & Bonus Location: The Queens Hotel, Leeds City Centre Hours: Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm | 1-hour lunch Overtime: Available, including evenings and weekends | OTE £31,000+ Overview We're looking for a hands-on and enthusiastic AV Technician to join the team supporting live events at The Queens Hotel in Leeds. The role will primarily involve providing on-site technical support and delivering AV requirements for clients through the hotel events team. You'll work closely with the AV Manager to ensure events are set up and operated to a high standard. The role will focus primarily on PA systems, projectors, control systems, monitors, microphones and video cabling, with the opportunity to support a range of live events and other venues when required.
Responsibilities
Set up, test and operate AV equipment for live events, ensuring all equipment is installed neatly and to a high standard. Provide technical support for client AV requirements through the hotel's events team. Work closely with the AV Manager to provide technical advice and support throughout events. Work with hotel operations staff to ensure rooms have the correct AV setup for each event. Maintain an ongoing stock check of equipment stored on site and undertake basic maintenance and repairs of venue-based equipment. Support other venues in the area and assist with freelance staff when required, including providing cover when other AV Managers are on holiday.

Qualifications & Experience Proven interest in the live events industry, with hands-on technical knowledge. Experience with or knowledge of PA systems, projectors, control systems, monitors, microphones and video cabling. Previous experience in a related AV role is desirable, although enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be considered. Knowledge or experience of the hotel conference industry would be advantageous. Ability to self-manage and work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with clients and colleagues. Ability to use your own initiative and work effectively under pressure. Client-facing, professional and well-presented.
