We're recruiting on behalf of a highly respected NSI Gold Approved Fire & Security specialist that continues to grow through reputation, quality and investment in its people. This is your opportunity to become the Lead Engineer for the Guildford region—someone the team relies on for technical expertise, support and leadership.

You'll still be hands‑on with the latest fire and security systems, but you'll also be the engineer others turn to when they need help solving complex faults. If you enjoy mentoring colleagues, taking ownership and being recognised as the technical expert, this could be the perfect next step.

What You'll Be Doing

As the regional Lead Engineer, you'll cover Guildford and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel towards Southampton when required.

Your role will include:

  • Servicing, maintaining and fault‑finding on Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control systems.
  • Acting as the go‑to technical expert for engineers working in the field.
  • Managing technical escalations and helping resolve complex issues.
  • Supporting the Service Manager with technical advice and operational support.
  • Delivering first‑class customer service while maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Completing all electronic job reports accurately.
  • Taking part in a paid on‑call rota.

Salary & Earnings

  • £39,000 – £42,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours:
  • 1.5x Monday to Saturday
  • 2x Sundays & Bank Holidays
  • Paid travel time (excluding the first and last 30 minutes each day)
  • £180 standby payment for each on‑call week
  • Door‑to‑door overtime paid for call‑outs
  • Rest time following overnight call‑outs
  • Up to £2,000 annual bonus, paid quarterly based on KPI performance

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has strong experience within the Fire & Security industry.
  • Is confident working on Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder systems.
  • Enjoys supporting and mentoring other engineers.
  • Has excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Can build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Holds a full UK Driving Licence.

Leadership experience is beneficial, but if you’re already the engineer everyone calls when they’re stuck, we’d love to hear from you.
