Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Lead Fire & Security Engineer to take ownership of a key service area, covering Guildford and the surrounding regions, with occasional travel towards Southampton when required. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on in the field.
The Role
As the Lead Fire & Security Engineer, you'll be the senior technical presence within your region. You'll provide expert support to engineers in the field, act as the main point of contact for technical escalations, and ensure works are completed to the highest standards while maintaining exceptional customer service. You'll split your time between carrying out planned maintenance, fault finding, servicing and reactive repairs across a range of fire and security systems, whilst supporting the wider engineering team with technical guidance and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain and fault-find on a wide range of Fire & Security systems. Provide technical support and guidance to field engineers. Act as the first point of contact for technical escalations. Assist engineers in resolving complex faults both remotely and on-site. Support the Service Manager with technical queries and operational issues. Maintain high standards of workmanship and compliance with NSI and industry regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Complete all documentation accurately using mobile technology. Participate in the on-call rota.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience within the Fire & Security industry. Strong knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems. Previous experience supporting or mentoring engineers is highly desirable. Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Strong customer service and communication abilities.
